Policies

While considering your event at Tapestry House, you may have questions about the food you will serve, the alcohol that must be purchased, and the timeframe that your event will follow. Below you can find simple answers to these questions that may help start you in the right direction.

Caterers

Tapestry House strongly believes in the ability to let each client choose their own food & beverage source. You may choose from a variety of options including our full service approved caterers, non-approved caterers, restaurants, drop-off catering or self-catering. However, you will be required to hire Tapestry House waitstaff for all of the above mentioned catering options other than our full service approved caterers. This is done to guarantee the success of your event and our desire to have well-trained and experienced staff on site who are familiar with weddings & Tapestry House policies.
Tapestry House waitstaff charges vary depending on the type of catering you choose and your number of guests. Please contact us for a quote on waitstaff charges.

Please be aware that the caterer you choose can make the difference in your event being a grand success (or a total disaster). For this reason, we do reserve the right to approve all companies who work on site. Caterers are required to attend the scheduled walk-through with the client six to eight weeks prior to the event. Caterers must agree to follow Tapestry House Caterer's Requirements (which are standard in the industry) and provide Tapestry House with a current Food Service License and certificate of Insurance policy.

Caterers may bring prepared food or finish food at the site but may not prepare raw food in the Tapestry House Caterer kitchen.

Bar

Tapestry House does not have a liquor license. This allows you to realize substantial savings by purchasing liquor directly from a liquor store, and having it delivered to Tapestry House for your event. Liquor may be served for a maximum of four hours for an afternoon or evening event or five hours for a full-day event.

Alcohol being served at your event, may only be served by our full service approved caterers and/or Tapestry House bartenders. If you hire a non-approved caterer, a restaurant, a drop-off caterer or are self catering, you will be required to hire a Tapestry House bartender for your event (we do make exceptions for a champagne toast only). Please call with questions or for further information regarding the number of bartenders and hours needed.

Security

The Tapestry House reserves the right to require security for events it feels may need additional security, at management's discretion.  We will notify you if we feel this is a concern.

Music and Noise Levels

You may hire a live band or a DJ, or bring recorded music for your event. Sound levels must be kept at a reasonable level so as not to disturb local residents. As long as it does not exceed local ordinance levels, it is acceptable. Because of the location and layout of the site, there are very few sound constraints.

Setup / Breakdown

It is the client's responsibility to inform all personnel hired by the client that they may not be on the premises prior to or after scheduled setup and breakdown times.  Tapestry House is not responsible for lost, misplaced or stolen items.

Detailed Walk-Through Meeting

Six to eight weeks prior to weddings, we schedule a 2-hour walk-through meeting with you, your caterer, and a representative of Tapestry House. We will go through all the final details of your event to ensure that everything is in order for your wedding.

Smoking

Smoking is only permitted outside of the buildings and the Reception Pavilion. There are designated smoking areas with fire proof smoking receptacles.

Animals

Pets, with the exception of service dogs, are not allowed at the Tapestry House. We make exceptions for dogs that are requested to be in the wedding ceremony, but we require that they be taken home or put in a kennel immediately after the ceremony. If you have a guest traveling with a pet, you may contact Tapestry House, so that we may plan on (on-site) accommodations for that pet, while guest is at the event.
